MKV files don't work

It's a format that is used by Youtube AND Vimeo, so I would say it's ridiculous that it doesn't work when I try to use downloads from these platforms in a project?

Beware of re-using copyrighted footage from Youtube in your own projects. I recently heard about a person who was charged for several 100k Euros for using Youtube footage in his own Youtube uploads...

Hi there, I see what you mean, but I was downloading our own projects from youtube to make a compilation of interviews. That would have been much faster, but I had to search for the MP4 originals on my harddrive after all because of this issue... ;)

I would always use the originals for a compilation and not the twice re-rendered youtube downloads and than re-render twice for the next youtube upload...quality will suffer.

Btw, when I use 4k Video Downloader for downloading your Youtube content, the resulting file is an mp4 an can be imported in Vegas without issues...

Thanks for this comment, I didn't think of this before, but I was able to change the default setting in 4k Video Downloader from 'auto' to MP4, so next time it will not be a problem!

I always assumed that MKV was just the format that Youtube and Vimeo use, but thats not the case, the downloader can create both! ;)

As far as the quality is concerned, you are absolutely right, but the compilations I make are only for using them in a livestream, which has a terrible quality anyway, most of the time I'm happy already if it's not lagging and you can actually see faces in the videos... :))
