"but it is quite a complimentary thread!'

I'll say! I've had dealings with some of these people in the past. Some of them are actually married to Liquid and sleep with "her" at night. I'm a bit taken aback to see this thread.

Hmm, it is quite natural to end a relationship or marriage that doesn't work, causing more headache than pleasure -- and get a new (better) companion ;)

I did that with both my former wife, AND with my former editing program (Pinnacle - RIP).

Now, after found the right one(s), I'll probably never switch :)

"no ways i would'nt even use her for a quicky"

Funny :)

But I'm not sure I would go that far in all seriousness. Liquid is (or was) a pretty good program (it's a workflow quite different from Vegas though). But I didn't switch from Liquid to Vegas because Liquid was bad, but rather because it was being mismanaged something awful. Waiting an entire year for a patch so it can be used I found just plain unacceptable.

That and the fact that at some point they seemed to have stopped advancing it, and and tried to let it ride on what was already there. Instead of stripping liquid down and actually integrating advancements, they seemed to be moving towards the "after-market add-on" concept, and as a result you had all these pieces there but not quite fitting right.

I bought pinnacle a few years ago and it was very unstable, but what got me totally pissed off is they want you to buy all the fx and other normal tools in bits and pieces
Well it’s a bit like buying a motor car and then the retailer tries to sell you the windscreen wipers and then the spare wheel and then and then and then I walked away

Sony Vegas got it all right from the start and don’t treat its users like they are morons
