Modify/Custom "Make Movie" Settings?

Hi-

Is there any way to modify the existing export/make movie templates in Vegas MovieStudio? I would like to be able to adjust things like frame rate, key frames, compression level, use the Sorenson Video codec instead of the default Sorenson 3 codec, add MPEG 4 codec, etc. The templates that Sony provides are very limited and have very few "custom" setting adjustments. By contrast Ulead Video 8 is quite adjustable int the export/save movie department (though it is inferior to MovieStudio in most every other aspect). Right now I have to create the movie, save it as an .avi file (very storage intensive), then import it into Terran Cleaner 5 or Quicktime 6 Pro, make the adjustments and save the movie in .mov file format. Many extra steps just to get the file size/video quality adjusted properly. Any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance!

I'm not at my home computer right now, so please bear with me-

If when you click on "Make DVD", then you click on "Advance render", there is a button named "customize" (I think, or something similar) that allows you to change more settings than are normally available and then you can save them as a custom template that will then be available from the drop down menu when you click "Advance Render".

This works great for saving special settings. I have quite a few custom templates set up.

Hey Benjamin-

I checked and the Advanced Render option is only in Make Movie--Save to Hard Disk. Even then you can only customize a few of the codec templates (like mpeg-1 and avi). No customization settings for most of the codecs listed as templates. Looks like I'm gonna have to go with Cleaner 5 or Quicktime 6 Pro for my final output.

Thanks again for the help.

yeah, it look slike movie studio doesnt let you customize quicktime output. I just got QT Pro though, so i'll just have to make an uncompressed version with Vegas and use QT to compress it.
