Module: Insert: Composite + defocus effect

Playing around with the "Composite" module render, along with the "color" option under "Insert blend mode", I have found an ideal effect for my clip.

The problem is, I also need to add a defocus effect to what would normally be the "cutout", as the "cutout" allows you to work with the effect in an isolated layer.
But once the "composite" mode is used, I don't know how to add an additional effect to this, as if it were a cutout.

I need to add the "defocus" effect to the clip, but I don't know how to isolate anything when I am using the "composite" mode.
It's the little red decal in the lower left part of the image.
Is there a way to isolate that little red decal when in "composite" mode?

I have the full Boris Effects suit, so I don't know if that can help me with this task.

Thank you.
