Module: sfvtswrap.dll failed to register HRESULT -2147024770

I have read other support threads regarding VC++ redistributable update/install/repair to solve this issue. None worked.

What I have done recently is change my computername. I didn't like my computer name. I had a previous version installed and it stopped running.

It smells like the bug is Vegas can't deal with computer name changes.

Any repairs I can do?

What do you mean by "stopped running"? Do you get error messages or what happens?

If it is an activation problem try this:

  1. Log in to your Magix account at https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/
  2. Go to "My Products" and find your VMS
  3. Go to the two activation slots and deactivate the one or both that are linked to your old computer name

Then when you load up VMS again it should go be able to activate using your new computer name.

It had a run time error on startup. So the natural thing to do was re-install. So it stopped running.

Now it's broken. There's nothing to activate.

I re-instated the old computername. Still doesn't work. Cannot install. Tried Version 16 and 17 - same issue. I have licenses for both versions. In fact many vegas products...

This was solved by installing EVERY one of the VC++ redist packages available. Thanks for the help
