Hope I'm not testing the patience of the forum members but I saw a post once on DVXUser and can't find it now. I'm doing color correction in Vegas and am calibrating a new monitor using color bars output from my DVX100 (set at 7.5 IRE, output from camera through firewire into NLE and out to monitor).
However, only on the 'a' model DVX can you output color bars when the camera is set on 24p, which is the setting we used for the film. On my "old" DVX I can only output color bars if the DVX is set on 60i.
What I'm wondering is whether calibrating to color bars from a 60i camera gives me a higher luminance or brightness than if I were getting color bars from 24p. In other words, should I reduce the brightness a few "notches" (ugh) to compensate for too-bright camera output?
