Monitoring my recording externally?

I am using Vegas 5.0, with a Delta 1010. I'm mixing 8 channels live to the Delta, input to 8 separate tracks in Vegas.

How can I setup Vegas so that I can monitor the mix as I record?

I was thinking that I could route all tracks to a bus, and send the bus to two hardware outputs on my Delta1010. However, no signal is routed from the tracks to the bus at all.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there some other way to go about this?

Don't do anything in Vegas. If you open the Delta panel (ussually lives in the system tray) you should be able to set up a monitor mix which will output to channels 1 and 2.
