monitoring recording inputs with Effects

I'm pretty sure i've read everything i can about this - so i'll ask here. I want to be able to record into Vegas while hearing Realtime DirectX (reverb for instance) on what i'm recording. I'm using an echo layla24 soundcard if that matters. - i'm pretty sure you can't do this but i thought i'd check.

Until vegas uses some sensible input output scheme, you wont be able to do this, among other things

However, you CAN Y cord it and effect the analog path, just not record it, and upon playback itll be different
