another question?

What is a good inexpensive way of hooking up a small tv to see the output from vegas. This obviously gives you the ability to see what your render would look like. On a LCD it's all so crystal and contrast is quite strong. Then when rendered to a DVD it's not identical.
I'd like to see a small tv showing me my image so I can make more accurate renders.

Is this something that blackmagic makes? are there any other companies?

Using your camera, if it supports DV<>AV pass thru' is one way.

Another is getting a DV<>AV card for the pc.

I've got a kinda combo of the above: An OLD DV<>AV Panasonic Deck.

grazie, but is there a way direct from the PC so a camera (mediator) is not needed?

It would be nice to have a static setup.

I dont know where to begin for something like this apart of black magics stuff and I read their products and it does not seem to fulfill my request.

I use an "ADS Pyro A/V Link" to do what you want....

Connect a firewire from your CPU to the A/V Link box and from that out to a cheap tv using composite or component or S-Video wires

Select "external monitor" in Vegas preview and it will send the 'preview' out to your tv via firewire to box to tv. the A/V Link can also can be used in reverse to capture analog and via firewire...

I got the A/V Link for around $150 a couple of years ago.
