More challenge with keyframing

I am trying to practice keyframing with text motion. I selected Slide Right from the list, assuming that I could start with the existing keyframes and adjust them. First, it appears to have no keyframes, which I don't understand, since it moves; second, it fades in and out, but no effects are in the chain, the event is the only thing on the timeline, and the fade sliders on the event tip and tail are in default position.

What am I missing, please?

I think that for a begiinner with keyframes that text editor is too heavy to learn.
You can try learning how keyframes has to be handeled for text using an older editor you can activate by the deprecated options.
