More Confused

Sorry to be a pest but I was able to download a trial I think, however it wants a serial number and I don't have one. My real question is this, the local compusa store has a copy, however It doesn't say what version it is. Members in this forum talk about version 3, how do I tell which version the store has. Of course their staff know nothing and tried to sell me the pinnacle software again. I gotta say this site is confusing. I still don't know exactly where I downloaded the software. Please advise again..

I can help on the version in the store.

The front of the Screenblast Movie Studio version 3 box has a picture of a female with a Sony videocam and has "DVD burning + DVD menus" in a blue banner at the bottom.

If it doesn't have DVD capabilities it isn't the latest version.

Another thought. You may get an e-mail from Sony/SonicFoundry with a serial number to use.

Also, the new Movie Studio is in a yellow box. The old one was mostly white.

So far Sony is doing everything wrong, their box design makes it extremely difficult to determine the version number. It is a good match for their awful website though.
