Should I spend 800.00?? More $$$ on ProCoder??? or TMPG???

Anyone have any opinions as to the better codec?

Mainconcept is not configurable because it creates errors with basic parameter adjustments. Sure,I can continue to make a minor adjustment and cross my fingers as to weather or not Ill get an error. Or I can find a stable converter. Its tough to find input on this stuff because its so new. All i know is the Last thing in the whole world I want to do is spend excess time converting my work because of errors and output with artifacts ("tearing" , blur)

TMPGEnc is cheap but slow. I've always found it reliable, configurable & quality edges out MainConcept for me.

Haven't used Procoder, but I'm regularly over at Sonic Solutions forums & I have seen nothing but praise from anyone who uses it there. To be honest I haven't seen any real criticism at all (except dongles) & it's supposed to do a good job of NTSC to PAL conversion as well with an included utility.

Procoder is without a shadow of a doubt well worth owning .. The final results are better than TMPG; especially for PAL users.
