More than one type of project on a DVD

Can you have more than one type of project on the same DVD say a menu based one & a picture slide show for instance? I was thinking along the line of having an opening background with 3 buttons, one to play entire video, a second to allow you to select indivual scenes and a third that would have you a selection of stills which either play automaticaly or else allow you to choose which ones to display from the displayed thumbnails.

I've made that kind of project... making the slideshow in Vegas (its really a movie which nothing but images with transitions between each) and it works fine with other "regular" movies on the main menu with it.

If you can use the slideshow function part of DVD-A along with a scene selection movie, I don't know... haven't tried it that way.

YOu could do a few different things....easiest of which is to insert a picture slideshow. You can set the images to play automagically in a timed series (as in each one play for x-amount of seconds)...and put some music playing as the slides play.

If you wanted to display images for a person to pick from thumbnails - that may get a little more involved.

You could just insert the media (your pictures) on a sub page....each image will have it's own link and will play for (initially) cloe to seconds. I don't know if there is a way to increase the "play time".

You could also go the route of making all the images their own MPEG file....setting it to play for something like 30 seconds each (or longer if you want) and bring those in.

Of course...all this depend on the space you have available on your DVD.

Hope that helps.
