Just apply Fx to THAT clip only - yeah? On the right hand edge of the clikp, just below the Pan/Crop icon there's and Fx button - that should get you through the night! And of course all this Key-framable, that is, you can bring the effect into play at the exact "frame" you wish it to start.

Hi Grazie. Thanks for the reply. I couldn't actually find any motion blur in the list of Fx, the only way I could find to apply it was as an envelope to the Video bus. I'll take a closer look.

Try this out! Get an effect you like on a Test track; use that as your "effect palette" go Copy>Paste Attribute to the event - yeah? Might work? - This way you've tested and tried.
