Motion Menu advance

I have a DVDA3 project in which I have inserted a scene selection menu that contains 6 sub-menu pages. I am trying to animate the transition between the SS menu pages by placing an mpeg2 rendered transition in between the navigation from ss menus. The problem is that when I burn the disk there is a 5 second delay in between the end of the transitions, and the end action pointing to the next SS menu page. I have six transitions, one in between each scene selection menu page, that go forword. Six in reverse to get back to main menu. Is there a way to get rid of that pause between the transition's "end action" and the following menu page? Is there another way to go about getting a more responsive menu in the final DVD?

What brand / model DVD player? Can you test it on another player? Most players have a bit of a lag between button selection and action, but 5 seconds seems a bit extreme.

I have two sony's a cyberhome and a panasonic plus have tried the dvd in other models. The shortest menu transition time seems to be in the sony models. ~5 seconds. The lag is not between the time I make a button selection and its subsequent action on the menu (linking to a menu transition movie) that is almost instant. But after the transition movie, an end action on the transition movie links to the next menu page. It is there that a 5 or 6 sec. pause occurs. Yes, the time varies between brands and models of DVD players I have tried, but the shortest I have seen is about 5 sec. Can you playlist to a menu page? Would that be more responsive in animated menu flow?

I have almost same problem, i hav many small videos ( from 1 to 10 sec.) and if the video is 1 sec , dvda add 4sec and i have 4sec blanck after my video.

No. But, since you say the extended pause is happening between the end of the transition and the next menu, what you could do is (using Vegas or some other editor if you must) have the transition and the following menu in the same file. Link your first menu to the second menu, set the second menu to use your transition / menu video for its background, and set the second menu's loop point accordingly. (No end actions or playlists needed.) This way, you've already got the relatively seamless menu-to-transition you already had, and the transition-to-menu should be completely seamless. Only thing you may have to work on is getting the loop point in just the right spot, but if you're using a motion menu (?), then you probably already know the right point.

Still wouldn't mind figuring out why you're getting at least a five second gap using end actions. That's not normal.

I think that, in general, 1-second videos are going to problematic when working with MPEG. A hazard of using a format that is so compressed is that you don't get a whole lot of leeway regarding lengths...and that leeway gets more troublesome with really short videos.

Just out of curiousity, why 1-second videos?

Ok, i work in visual efects studio and we want to burnt all shots on for one movie one DVD, most of shots are around 2-4 sec. in this case,black frame after shots is not a big problem. But if i want to make animated menu and i use short transition... I have PROBLEM ... i look some DVD and the transitions in menu are 2-3sec. WITHOUT black frame.
