...motion stills vs video backgrounds.....

...just in case you wanted to know...

...needed to create a clip for the web...needed smallest size file possible....didn't want too much background motion behind talking head....used a still with track motion figuring it would create smaller file....then I used a rapid swirly video as background....came out roughly the same file size...happiness....

...if you already knew this, please ignore...if you didn't, then send me money...

A slight bit of even the tiniest motion compresses more like enormous amounts of motion than like a complete still. For that matter, the talking head was moving so there was already a good deal of motion in the frame.

...that was the point...once you have motion, still or video, you may as well go for the video because it's gonna come out at roughly the same file size...neat...
