Motion Tracking broken in Vegas 22

Marco-Vinc wrote on 9/12/2024, 11:34 PM

I first noticed it on the Vegas 22 release, but now the latest patch also has completely broken Motion Tracking for me.

After tracking something, just slightly moving the event on the timeline breaks the tracking. The only way you will notice it is if you close the motion tracking window and re-open it, because the program keeps showing an intact tracking while it's actually fragmented. It keeps working flawlessly on V21

Here's an image of the fragmented tracking on V22

Would anyone be kind enough to check if their motion tracking still works correctly?

This is a major feature of Vegas for me, which unfortunately has essentially stopped working with V22.

The lack of threads or posts about it makes me hope it just might be a problem with my PC/Setup

@Marco-Vinc I am trying to help, but Vegas 22 build 102 gets hung up soon as tracking starts. I have to use task manager to terminate Vegas. After 3 attempts, I quit.

@Marco-Vinc I've just checked using a simple clip from the Hub. See below.

Nothing wrong with this example.

Does it continue working if you try closing and re-opening the motion tracking window or try applying the motion tracking data to any event, for example with a freeze motion. Because as I said in my first post, the program will keep showing an intact tracking while it's actually fragmented unless you refresh the window. Thank you!

@Marco-Vinc I can confirm that the green motion track line appears broken if you close the Motion Tracking UI then re-open it. This has been reported. In my test it had no adverse effect on the tracking. See video below. I tracked the lady's right eye and applied the tracking data to a Titles and Text event. The tracking Precision was Accurate and the Mode was Location. The text moves to the left at the end because she turns her head to her right.

This still hasn't been resolved on 194

Still hasn't been resolved on 237, motion tracking tool has essentially not worked for the entirety of Vegas 22

You still see the issue in the new build 239 ?

Unfortunately I do, whenever I try to motion track anything the tracking gets generated, but then it becomes fragmented the moment I try to apply it to anything or I simply move to another event and then back (pictures attached)
