MOTU 828MKII, ASIO and Vegas

Help! I am about to do a live project which requires numerous mics and a lot of noise... I need a portable, firewire based (for my laptop), interface and have been thinking of buying the MKII. This will be used extensively on a project in two weeks which is going to be LOUD, outdoors, and off the beaten track....

Will the MKIII play well with Vegas? Do the drivers (ASIO) work well with Vegas? After the troubles with the M-Audio Delta 1010's I am encountering, I am concerned.

Anyone use the MKII? Are you happy with it???

Help!!!!!

I've been using the 828MkII with Vegas 4.0 since the day the MkII came out, and it's been working perfectly. I just finished up tracking a 10 song project using my Vaio laptop (under WinXP), a firewire hard drive and the 828MkII. Each song averages nearly 30 tracks, and I didn't have a single hitch...even when tracking 14 tracks of drums at once. All tracking was done with ASIO drivers.

I'm extremely happy with it (and of course Vegas)!

Any hitches? I am extremely reticent due to the trouble with M-audio... Any Hints or tricks in set-up?

No hitches really. Just get XP optimized. Adjust it for "Best Performance", and disable any non-essential services.

Thanks for the help! I have just purchased the 828MKII and will have two days to configure everything prior to it's trial by fire... should be interesting...

Thanks again!

Good luck, although you shouldn't need it...it's pretty straight-forward. If you run into troubles, or have questions, I'll be more than happy to help in whatever way I can.

What a great piece of equipment! Although I have 11ms of latency it won't be too bad... guess I just have to twek a bit more.thanks for the input on the MKII, just got it today and am putting it through it paces on the studio PC. Next up the laptop...
I will be in touch, My thanks for convincing me to make the purchace... I hope my thanks will do...

What application are you using that latency is a concern? If you're using "CueMix" to monitor the live inputs, then latency shouldn't be an issue.
