.mov files - tried previous suggestions but no luc

Hi All,

I have files from our wedding videographer that are in .mov format. When I try to drop them into a VMS project, there is only an audio track. If I try to play the files using quicktime and windows media player, there is only audio. I downloaded vcl media player. the vcl is able to play the video and audio. I thought this would install the correct codec on my computer. So I tried to play the files using quicktime and it still only plays the audio. I try to import it to a VMS project and I still only get audio. I tired other suggestions I found on this forum: change extension to .mp4 but with no luck. I only get audio. NOt sure if I used mediainfo correctly. Let me know if what I posted is the correct info.

I don't think you are going to be able to open Apple hdv8 directly in Vegas. I don't know of a vfw-compatible decoder.

Upload a short sample of your original video somewhere. You will get some suggestions for conversion or demuxing in return. Or you could perhaps pay someone to transcode them to .m2ts

Also post your Quicktime Player version.
