Hi All,
I'm doing some additional work on a project edited in V7.0d. Am I imagining that there was a way to move the markers with their events with the selection editing tool or normal editing tool? Used forum search, but no joy.
Thanks for any help.
Ken
I believe the only way to move Markers with events is through the ripple edit when you select the Auto Ripple (Ctrl+L) tool with the option to move Affected Tracks, Bus Tracks, Markers and Regions (which is the 2nd option) or All Tracks, Markers and Regions (the 3rd option). Otherwise it just ripples affected events.
Understand that markers have nothing to do with events. Markers are timeline based i.e., they mark points on the timeline for all tracks. At any given point in the timeline you could have events on several tracks, so why would moving one of the events move a marker and which event do you want the marker to move with? This is why it's placed in ripple edit mode because Auto Ripple moves all of the events and the Markers too.
Hi,
I know I am (might be) too late with answer and you have probably solved your trouble.
But I was searching for answer on the same question today and find that we have common topic:
"How to move certain events with its regions and markers",
and...
If you want to move with region:
hold key "ALT" + drag one part of region - it moves with all region
If you want to move with markers and keep the same distance among them:
hold key "Ctrl" + drag it everywhere you want on timeline
It is not ideal but it helped me to shift set of events over another one in few steps:
1) select all events i want to move - drag them to certain point
2) select (ALT+drag) region (Note: it is cool if you have START and END of region right on the edges of first and last clip in region) and drag it on the point where you have moved previously selected clips*
3) select (Ctrl+ mouse click) markers and drag them to new place, because they move as one with keeping distance among them it is easier to put them on exactly the same place on events!
