Movie Studio 12- Need help - glitch/stutters

Well since Sony's customer/tech support is non existent unless you pay for it I am hoping the community can help. I have used many different video editing softwares in the past but this is my first go with Sony. I want to like the program, however it fails in the one area that really matters...the final rendered video. I have tried a few projects all comprised of slideshows (only still pics no videos) ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes long. The problem is all there rendered videos (mpg, mp4, avi, etc. have visible glitches and stutters in the videos. It is not a player issue (again they are SD) and clearly are rendered into the video. I tried disabling GPU acceleration and the frequency of issues are reduced but not eliminated.
Here are my computer specs:
Win7 Pro 64bit
i7-2600k
8 gb 1600 ram
ATI 7870 2GB

What is your source video? What model of camcorder is it coming from and what format and resolution is it?

How closely matched to those specs are your Vegas project properties?

Some video is interlaced using odd horizontals lines first. Others are interlaced using even horizontal lines first. Others are not interlaced at all.

Some use standard frame rates. Others use non-standard rates.

Conflicts between interlacing systems and frame rates can cause stuttering in your final product. There are lots of variables in video, and the closer your project properties are to your video, the better your end product will look.

And then of course you have to consider the format you've output and the device or software you're playing it on.

I am not using any video source. So far all I have tried are pictures with pan/zoom effects applied.

Are you rendering the video to your main hard drive and then watching it off of the same drive?

The program, media and output file are all on the same primary drive (with os) which is a Samsung 830 256gb ssd.

As i can see VMS still sucks on this!

Have you tried first resizing the photos to closer to video resolution -- ideally 1000x750 pixels in size?

Your results should be terrific.

"As i can see VMS still sucks on this!"

Have you had similar experiences?

I have not, but I would argue this is a flaw of the most basic level if Sony cannot handle full resolution pictures with pan and zoom (I do some heavy zooming on some and resizing will not work). My first pinnacle video software I had 8 years ago, as flawed as it was, could handle this type of work and on my current system this should be child's play for any software. For comparison the free Windows Movie Maker can create a clean video using the same media.

Yes, I managed to get "smooth" zooming into pictures ONLY when resizing the pictures to the same (or lower) width to my HD 2x1920x1080 (stereoscopic) project. Only then all zooming were smooth. Unfortunately!
This is very serious flaw, since with zooming you are loosing resolution.

I completely agree this is a flaw and major oversight since this is a relatively straight forward thing to do. To make things worse Sony's customer service is completely nonexistent, worse than any company I have ever dealt with, which equates as this being my first and last Sony software purchase.

The path to a solution to your problem is clear. Post your:
Media properties
Project propertie
Render properties

Upload the result (no, not to Youtube).

It's likely a system/bitrate issue, but we can't tell without the right information (crystal ball is at the cleaners).
