I’m new at this but when I press u nothing happens, also it’s just one 14 minute video with some added texts

Something that I should probably add is that after I record it from my webcam, I have to use handbrake to put it in mp4 format, then I can open it, by the time I add text to it, it’s off just a little bit, but then I render it which makes it way off, then I use dvd flick and then finally clone dvd and by that time it’s even further off

Sorry... click the event clip on the timeline first... then press U to ungroup them.

No worries, I think that helped a little bit, it still not acceptable, I’ve heard that handbrake has a setting in it that I’m going to try, i might have to redo my videos, if it’s successful I will post on here

If you are using OBS to capture, right click on Audio Mixer area > Advanced Audio Properties, there's a sync offset in ms adjustment. try with that.

I'm not sure with handbrake, but I can't find any of that setting?

But anyway, if the lip sync's off time is constant, I would go with ungroup-workflow and then adjust the audio part of it.
