Movie Studio 17 - no sound

David-Putman wrote on 3/28/2021, 3:33 AM

I am using Movie Studio 17 Platinum

If I select the movie segment in the top Auto Preview box I get sound. But when I play the combined video segments along the bottom track I do not get any sound. Sliding the volume bar in the sound track does not work. Sometimes I get a change between Off(solo) and Muted (yellow font display) but that does not help. In the top of the volume box is a letter M (muted?) in a circle with an off indicator. Clicking on the M symbol does not turn the sound on. ALso I do not get any sound when I make the movie.

Make sure no audio tracks have Solo or Muted activated.

Also check in the top Menus under Options that "Mute all audio" isn't accidentally checked.

Thank you, it was (partially) the setting in options at the top. I unchecked the Mute all audio option and it worked on my one track. However, when I add a new audio track the sound is still turned off on the new track. The new track only allows me to set the Mute or Solo option.

Software Bug???????????

I deleted the project and started over. Now I can add new audio tracks with no problems.

Unlikely a bug as I cannot recall others stumbling across the same problem. It's usually operator error with Solo accidentally activated on a track.
