Movie Studio HD 9.0 can't find MyVideos

I have seen this reported in the forum but I have not seen a resolution. In MS HD 9.0 the Explorer tab will not display the MyVideos folder that comes with Windows XP. All settings of the file types are correct. If you use the Project Media ...Import Media tabs you can go anywhere on my computer and get the files including MyVideos. What is it about this folder that does not allow Explorer in MS HD 9.0 to find MyVideos?

First, be sure you are running Vegas as an Administrator.
Second, try disabling UAC in XP.

I'd also ask why one would use the MyVideos folder. Generally your project flow is best served by creating individual folders for each project on a drive other than the system/boot drive. None of these folders will end up under MyVideos, and therefore you wouldn't have this problem at all.

I discovered the problem with the My Videos folder. I will give the resolution here in case it might help others. The folder My Videos has attributes that cannot be changed via the normal changes allowed in Windows. If you use the CMD prompt view of the directory structures you can find that the My Videos folder does not even show up when you use the dir command. This is because the folder attribute was set as S for system. If you use the attrib command to set the attribute to R (read only) and delete the S (system) attribute then MS HD 9.0 can finally find this folder. Eureaka! This problem can only be fixed in this way.

I hope this helps someone.
