movie studio plat 13 no play during edit

. I know this architect studio forum but didn't see listing for movie studio plat 13, and I know a lot of dvd architect guys come from or use movie 13 or have lots of experience with it.
Just started using plat 13. finished movie saved it. opened back up this morn to final edit and now no commands will work for playing movie.
Been talking with sony support and they are more then useless. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck same problem. did I hit a key or turn something on without knowing?????

figured it out. had to manually go in and set all preferences to default for some reason not sure why and now all is normal and functioning correctly.
If anyone has some idea of why it would be necessary to reset all preferences to default manually to make playback and any of the screen control and commands work please post here so others can learn.

Actually this is the DVD Architect forum, not just for the Studio version.
