Movie Studio Platinum 8.0 Vs Vegas Video 4.0

I posted this same question on the Vegas Video Forum. I would like to have the opinions of both software communities. I've been using Vegas Video 4.0 since it came out. I come from a Professional Video shooting and editing background. Now, I'm just a casual user (home videos of my grandchildren and family affairs mostly) and find 4.0 more than I need. Would anyone have an opinion as to whether or not Vegas Movie Maker Platinum Edition 8.0 with DVD Creative Software will out perform Vegas Video 4.0 with DVD Architect 1.1 I would very much value the opinion of the Vegas Movie Maker community along with the opinions of the Vegas Video users. Thank you in advance for any information or opinions you can share with me. Regards, Tony M.

Definitely go for it. The improvements in DVD Architect will astound you. I was amazed at the difference when version 2.0b came out. Version 4.5 is definitely huge improvement.

As far as Vegas is concerned, if you're happy with version 4 then you may not really notice much change going to Studio version 8. Keep in mind that you will lose a few things. You won't have all the custom rendering options of the full version, and you'll only have 4 audio and 4 video tracks instead of an unlimited number. If that's ok then don't worry about it. If you find yourself needing more tracks you could still edit in Vegas 4 and then author the DVD in DVD Architect Studio 4.5. On the whole though, i think you'll grow to appreciate lots of the other enhancements added along the way.
