Movie studio platinum "render as" many options missing.

Robert-Vincent wrote on 2/4/2021, 3:34 PM

I have a DJI drone, that I shoot in 4k, 30fps, and it renders as a .Mov file.

I want to render as the same (a MOV file) but cannot seem to do so.

I found a youtube video, and someone there showed all the render as options.

I took a screenshot of what he has.

I hope you can blow it up. but it has a ton of options.

and the video is here:

mine on the other hand has very few options.

here is my screenshot.

he has about 18 or so options of "render as" formats, and i have about 9.

what am I missing here?

please help.

You are comparing Vegas Pro to Movie Studio. That is probably the difference.

First, The DJI Drone only records video stream, and no audio.

If you render video stream only, anything to audio-specific rendering choices (like AAC Audio, ATRAC Audio, MP3 Audio, etc.) are not shown.

Then, VEGAS Pro has more options of output choices compared to VEGAS Movie Studio.

Different applications.

well now. that makes sense, and dont I feel stupid.

ok. one more question then.

DJI videos = MOV file. UHD 4k 29.97fps.

what would you use to keep the extremely high quality of a MOV in MP4?

from what i can see, Magix AVC internet UHD 2160 29.97fps is my only choice.

would that be correct?

Correct 🙂👍

Just use the Renderoption mp4, it will automatically choose the right Rendertemplate according your project settings.

Thank you everyone. All of your responses were very helpful. Due to the amount of rendering I do for my company, i have decided to upgrade the Movie Studio Platinum to Vegas Pro Suite. The upgrade amount was too much to ignore.
