I was wondering how much of a stripped down version of Hitfilm is built into Movie Studio 11

Interesting question.
I doubt it has the full Ultimate effect suite (the price of that SW is almost 400 bucks).
Anyway, the integration of the 2 products is a nice idea.
But I just saw that the list of export file type from the visual effect platform does not include Avchd... I will wait for some feedback from the earlier users...

HitFilm Std. is $149 so it'l be interesting to see how much of it wil be in Movie Studio

wonder if Hitfilm will be integrated with Vegas Pro. This has been a missing feature for too long. I always hoped Sony would buy ParticleIllusion
