Movie Vegas 12 (build 896 - 64 bit version) began to continuously crash upon program start-up.
Being that support without a paid subscription can take several weeks to a month, I decided to post in the forums how this problem was resolved.
I tried all the standard things like Running in Administrative mode, reinstalled a fresh copy, cleaned my registry, etc. Nothing was working,
Decided to review the error messages that come up in the report and saw there was some kind of I/O error occurring, so I did a search on I/O errors and found a really old topic about it back when Quicktime 9 was still around.
Went to Apples website and downloaded the current Quicktime software, did install and problem was immediately resolved.
That might be something I try from this day forward whenever the Sony software crashes instead of waiting for a new update to address the problem, if nothing else it will become a new step in the troubleshooting.
So again, the solution was as simple as downloading and installing a new version of Quicktime.
