MovieStudiov12 - odds

I'm attempting a half-hour movie of many clips. These have all loaded correctly and placed on timeline. They Preview correctly and the Audio is OK, too.
I find that whenever I place the cursor on a point of interest ( so I can play from this point, using the play controls. The whole series of clips becomes a loop and it plays from the loop start ( ie clip One).
I have previously set-up an Intro, so the loop-effect is associated with the new-media.. I looked up Help -loops- but it is just confusing.
When I want a loop ( which isn't often) then I mouse-over the timeline . . . it's a definite act . . . . ( well that was the case in v10 and to date in v12 or I'd have noticed ).
If I attempt to put the static cursor on the Timeline then the Timeline goes blue ( =Loop) and it starts to play from the beginning of the loop - but not always.... sometimes it behaves as I'd expect, but it's not every time. In other words, clicking within the Loop kills the blue and the static cursor marker appears. When I Play from Marker, then it plays as expected. However, this loop-creation and restarting is very annoying.
I've altered the [ Control Panel Mouse-Click ] , but it remains a somewhat Random chance if it goes Loopy, or not . . . . . . Very confusing....
I'm tempted to revert to v10 which has none of these Odds . . . . not so far!

Odd no 2
When I use the new text I find it has gone away when played on the timeline - the frame is there and I can edit the Text, but the "Animation" appears to have taken the text away. Is there a simple way to reduce the amount of animation, so I can see where it's going . . . and I wonder why the Default settings are so strong I'm losing time looking for my words. "Placement" is near screen centre, so it should appear at the start or end of the Animation I guess.

My fix is to return to Legacy Text which behaves without a murmur . . . although it's a pity I cannot bring a little animation to the party.

Odd-3
When I use Ripple in v12 - often it doesn't pick-up ( ie the ripple Icon is still asleep ), normally it jumps-up with the slightest provocation.
- I use this to insert titles between clips for example, so the AutoRipple pushes out a space. Of course I switch it off PDQ otherwise it messes up almost every time, should I forget.
Suggestion:-
+ I almost wonder if the green icon on the Text events ( for Editing Text) couldn't be made to perform as if Auto Ripple was ON ( change the green flag, to Red perhaps as it would have effects when CUT, or Edited, but could be changed to Green =Normal) easily. When the text event is included, change to Green-flag and then stretch the box, so now the text can be faded In/Out . . . .This action needs some refinement, but it might help me if included in v14, perhaps.
If Sony wants an "advanced" version:- then have an Orange version that will work within an existing clip, by making the underlying movie static frames, maybe darken it 10% with 10% Gaussian Blur.... then the new text fades and the original movie continues. It should be possible to revert to Green-flag PDQ so it ceases to behave oddly.
A feature I really would like.... is to change the Velocity ( As in Vegas), so the above static-frame gradually picks up...!

I looked at the Options menu - but could find nothing that looked obvious - The only thing that is "Different" is that I Imported the Media to Timeline in a single click....and somewhere I read this changes "something" but don't know . . . . I imported them "as one" so I don't lose the sequence, which is easy to do when dragging Clips individually, as there must be 24-or more.

That's it folks . . . . thoughts?

I'm not aware of any operational PC issues - and the clips all Play OK in a Media player....
