Moving Multiple Audio/Video Clips

I have what I hope is a simple question. I have a series of audio and video clips on my timeline. I would like to move them to the right so I can add a few other clips to the left of them. I see the "select to end" feature, but is there a way to, for example, highlight everything I want moved and then drag all of it to the right (audio and video)?

Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

Brent

I'm guessing what's happening is that you only have one track moving when you try to move the events. Obviously what you want is to have all the tracks move.

If you click on a track to select an event, only that track is selected. Select events to end will only work on that track. You could Ctrl-click events on other tracks above and below first, then select events to end to get all the tracks. Or, click the mouse below the bottom track to position the cursor. Instead of selecting a track this will enable selection of all tracks. Then select events to end.

Thank you and yes that is the case. I know how to select a clip on a track and click select to end, but I wasn't sure how to do that for all tracks. When you say to click the mouse below the bottom track, where are you referring to to click?

Is there any way to just highlight all of the tracks I want to move and select to end and move them that way? I've tried it and it doesn't work but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly.

Probably what you want to do is enable auto ripple and then move the left-most event -- the rest will move too. See the auto ripple icon on the tool bar.

Thanks Paul.

Does anyone know how to select more than one track? For example, if I have two video tracks with a bunch of video clips and 3 audio tracks with a bunch of audio clips, how do I select all of it so that the ripple works on all of them at once?

I purchased my version of Sony Vegas online and it didn't come with a manual. Does anyone know if I can purchase a manual for it? Or is there another book that people find particularly useful?

Thanks,

Brent
