MP2 Files

I have created mp2 files using the default template. Each and every time when I try to play the files on either Windows Media Player or Real Player, the programs crash. However, the files will play on Nero Showtime.

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this behaviour?

I get that problem with the MP2 files that my TV tuner software records. Media Player won't play them (hangs). I haven't tried RealPlayer and I never really followed the problem up. All I know is that Vegas reads them and transcodes them to MP3 just fine.
