MP3 audio squeels

Roger Bansemer wrote on 3/6/2022, 1:59 PM

I've recently had to reinstall windows and now many of my mp3 audio files just have a constant squeeling sound. Vegas does not like them. Either does the windows player. The only application that will play them is VLC. I can import them into VLC and convert them to a wav file and they are OK but I have tons of them to do so I'm thinking that there must be a codec or something I am missing.

Any thoughts? thanks.

Try reset VP19 to factory default.

Thank you so very much for this information. Hopefully it sticks but right now everything is working fine again. I didn't have that registry bit to delete. It wasn't there but resetting the cache did the trick. Thanks again. Don't know what I'd do without fellow Vegas users help.
