MP4 audio clicks

I have an MP4 video file, I play it on windows media player or VLC plyer and it is as recorded, no problems. If I then drag it onto the timeline of Movie Studio Platinum 13 (latest build) the audio has clicks and pops that weren't there before (if rendered the clicks and pops remain). This doesn't happen with other file types. I have tried increasing playback buffer times as suggested by the live chat system, but this had no effect on the problem.

Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks

Is this only on the preview or in the Vegas-rendered video?
The Vegas preview is not a player, and therefore is subject to other resource hogs such as effects on the timeline.

To move forward, we need MediaInfo for your source and rendered files, project properties, and render properties,

I'm not sure what you mean or the difference between 'preview' and 'Vegas rendered video'. The clicks occur when playing the clip on the timeline as well as when I click on 'Make Movie' and render the clip as a WMV for example.

Video file details are: Type: MP4, Video: 1920x1080, bitrate 2364kbps, fps 57, Audio: Bit rate 195kbps, stereo, 48 KHz

I match the project settings to the file, but if I match it or not the clicks remain. Thanks

Need more audio detail? It must be a compressed format so that information would be useful.

(AAC, PCM, etc)
