MP4 no longer works since upgrading to Vegas 9.0c

Ever since upgrading to 9.0c (64-bit Vista) I am having all sorts of issues with my MP4 renders. I can play my video, but I can not forward through them at all, else Quicktime will crash. I also can no longer use my splitting software to split my videos into equal parts (BoilSoft Video Splitter) as I get a "not enough sync points" error. Regardless of the splitting issue, I can't play any new MP4 files rendered using the newest upgrade without quicktime crashing. I played videos rendered before the upgrade with no problems.

Any ideas or suggestions? Is there a way I can downgrade to 9.0b?

Thanks,
Ted

What version of Quicktime?

Version 7.6.2

Really. I think you should create a support ticket by using the links at the top of this page and let us know how it works out. May be a new bug with 9.0c, which was fixed to work with 7.6.4, but it shouldn't be a requirement.

Hi, Yes I've submitted a ticket and awaiting the results. I can't upgrade my Quicktime to 7.6.4 otherwise Sorenson Squeeze will no longer work. I've played my MP4 files that were rendered before the upgrade to C and still have no issues with them - just those since the upgrade.

Does Sony provide a site where you can download previous versions? I'm just wanting to downgrade to 9.0b if possible.

Thanks,
Ted

Thanks for the link, but it only allows you to download Vegas Pro 9.0c or all the way back to Pro 8.1. I'd like to stick with 9.0b if possible.

Support provided me with a link to downgrade to 9.0b and everything now works flawlessly once again. They think it's because my QT is not updated to 7.6.4, but I can't upgrade that without causing my Sorenson program to no longer function.

I am having the same exact problem. In fact I also posted something about it on the boards. When you render out your MP4 and put it back on your timeline, go to File at the very top left and then go to Properties within the file tab. I think the templete in which you are viewing the MP4 may be wrong. Go to the file folder at the far right and chose the MP4 file and hit open then apply. Now the project settings will be suited to that mp4 file and it should play fine. That is what I have been doing and now my mp4 files run without a hitch. I might take a couple of seconds for the clip to load but once it does it will run fine.

Sony Software Archive
Everything can be found in the various folders here.
Pro 9 is at the bottom of the current link.
