MP4 Project Renders With No Video Only Audio

Blaque wrote on 9/11/2018, 12:24 PM

I've tried different variations of mp4 renders between Magix avc, hevc, and Sony avc but cant seem to render out a working mp4 file within VP16 (build261). Its a 360 project filmed with a Ricoh Theta V. I was able to render fine earlier yesterday and then something just went wrong. First the render dialog box showed the project was at 100% and yet continued to elapse time on the counter, and then at other times the mp4 file would render out at 0 bytes along with a mp4 temporary file that was also 0 bytes. I let the project render through the night and the rendered mp4 file seemed to have at least finished this time showing that the file size was 445MB but when I went to play the file there was no video only audio.

I also rendered directly to YouTube using the upload feature within VP16 and the video rendered and uploaded fine to YouTube with only one little issue, the video didn't play back in 360 it played back in it's spherical dimensions which defeated the purpose so had to delete the video from YouTube.

Does anyone here know how I can fix the issue? Thanks in advance for your help on this.

Try setting the project properties to 8 bit instead to 32 bit floating point and use HEVC output for 360° projects.

That didn't fix the issue but thanks for suggesting the fix,

Rendering the project in just HD fixed the issue for now, but would be very nice to get the most out of the Ricoh Theta V's 4K capabilities. It's listed right there in VP16's default project templates for goodness sake.
