I've encoded an mpeg-1 NTSC Video CD file from the
timeline. The source was a Canon GL-1 DV camcorder through
a SIIG 1394 card. Timeline quality looks great, .avi's
look great, but the mpeg-1 file is so badly pixelated it
looks terrible. The video CD I created (Smart and Friendly
CD-RW disk/Nero 5)looks horrible through a stand-alone Sony
DVD (DVP-S550D)player. Is this just the Ligos encoder?
I'm currently running a 320 X 240 .avi of the same source
video through Terran's Media Cleaner 5 (mpeg-1 default
settings). So far, it looks great (it's taking forever to
encode on an Athlon 700)! What's up with the ligos mpeg-1
stuff?
