Same for me [UK]. I've tried TMpGenc... I'm not clever enough to use it. I would really like to have a simple tutorial from those that have used it. And it is free!
I presune you have scanned all the way through the tutorial? Like I said I aint that clever. Plus I had a quick read of its own Forum - ooohhh I felt like I was back on "The Dark Side" [VW etc etc].
This sounds like I'm being ungrateful - I'm not, honestly. But surely there must be an easier way? Maybe not for freeware.
I will have another gander at it and see. However, I've just purchase a truly wonderful Presentation package to do all my vid/aud/stills/text/vector slides/subtitles/...... on and I have already being approached for some Company PR stuff, as well as an artist who wants a CD:CV! OOOOhhhh things are looking up! What it does with mpeg1 vids is truly amazing.
Hi Grazie
Well to be honest, I was keeping it for another day, so I havent had that close a look at it. My birthday is coming up so thats when I will be paying for VF and the 2 40 gig hds. so until then I can only dream of burning VCDs, but I always plan ahead, hence the link that I posted.
I was also a member of that dark place, the only thing that I can say in its defence is that it introduced me to the edditing side of computing.
Hendo - Yes you are absolutely correct! I bought my Dell Inspiron with that software on it - as Dell's Movie solution. No way was I, at that time, going to spend the £650 on something like Premiere, without seeing if I could get my head around NLE activity. I have and yes it was down to what I did with the SW. However I did buy version 5 to "get round" the 4gig barrier - it didn't. What with the aud. sync etc and my truly opaque experience with the "support" it really was costing me a lot of ££'s and stress - yes stress. Sooooo here I am and here I will stay - for the moment. While we're being honest, I was about to throw in the towel regarding NLE until VinceG and others described the virtues of VF.
Thanks also for your candour "Well to be honest..." concerning TemPgenc.
I suppose in life we all have to "kiss" a lot of frogs until.... VF is terriffic!
Nuff said, and move on. I've got some potentially valuable leads to follow up, making small discreet SIVs [Special Interest Movies] which in turn can lead me to who knows where. And again this is a direct result of me feeling confident not only about VF's abilities but also this truly supportive Forum. People actually come here to share not only their technical expertise but "give-up" their "Look what I've been able to do!" experiences. PLUS PLUS Chienworks putting together the:
What I have also learnt is to scour a company's [if they have it - if they haven't that is also a clue!] User's Forum for that product, and to learn if the product is for me. VF has it, and the new piece of presentation SW I bought yesterday has it as well. I've learnt here what a Support Forum can deliver and as a result I am more confident about sharing aswell.
Anyway, it's Saturday, it's early May in London, the Sun is coming up and who knows what the day will bring and unfold into.
