MPEG-2 Sampling Rates (Vegas 5)

Would there be any advantage encoding with the new 4:2:2 sampling format for a non-HD project? (hope this isn't a dumb question)

'Standard' MPEG-2 (as used for DVD and most other MPEG-2 applications) is 'Main Profile @ Main Level'. This uses 4:2:0 luma/chroma sampling, and (as far as I know) doesn't suppport 4:2:2 - this comes as part of one of the higher MPEG levels/profiles.

So be careful if you 4:2:2 because most decoders only support up to 'Main Profile @ Main Level' playback.
