MPEG 2 Support but what about MPEG 1?

Houston wrote on 12/17/2000, 11:06 AM
I am able to now import MPEG 2 files into vegas. These have
the .ext of .mp2.
I still have not been successfull at importing a MPEG 1
file. I can do this in Vegas, but Not Vegas Video.
I have the 2.0b 'Mpeg Support' version of Vegas Video.

So does anyone else have this problem?

I can open these .mpg files in other video editing
programs. (LSX mpeg encoder, V-Tech Mpeg Tool-box...)
Could these create a conflict with Vegas?

One of the things I love about Vegas is the fact that I
have so much control over the output of a file(.asf in
particular). BUT I am really pulling my hair out every
time I need to convert something to another format to do
this!

Thank You,

John Houston

I also just bought VV 2.0b and am having the same problem.
Do I need a special plug in to import MPG files?

To resolve the problem that you're experiencing please do
the following:

1. Load Vegas Video
2. Load Windows Explorer
3. In Windows Explorer, move to the directory "C:\Program
Files\Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-Ins\File Formats\MPEG"
4. Drag the file lmpgplg.dll from Windows Explorer into
Vegas Video
5. Choose Yes when asked if you would like to register it

Thanks,
Steve
