mpeg capture to avi.

i have pinnacle movie in a box. pinnacle caputers in mpg2 format. if i change it to avi will i loss quality, get better quality. what will happen? i no avi is better quality

how do i capture avi through vags without losing frames.

i know, i am anamature.

Short answer: You do NOT want to capture as MPEG2 and then go to AVI. You want to capture directly to AVI via firewire.

If you NEED to capture to mpeg-2 (for some wierd reason) then capture at a high bitrate (9mbs) & all i frames. Then convert them do DV AVI (and grow old & watch your great grandkids go off to school in the process of all that rendering).
