mpeg dll problem?

this is what i see when i open up the Components in About Vegas Software window

Application

the weird thing is that sometimes the AC3plug and the MPEGplug appear as loaded and sometimes they appear as not loaded (as shown above)
...everytime i work with mpeg videos Vegas 6 is very slow...is that why?

any ideas on what i am doing wrong?

When I open about Vegas 6, Mpeg: MCplug.dll.version: not loaded and AC3: ac3plug.dll version: not loaded also appears. I have downloaded and registered Vegas 6b and DVD Architect 3.a and I can't render MPEG 2 format in Vegas. It renders for two to three minutes then crashes in the same spot each time, I preview on Task Manager and the CPU is at 100% and Page File usage climbs to 1.7Gb then Vegas crashes. I have 2 GB of memory and haven't been able to render anything in Vegas 6?
