MPEG Locks up 6.0 D

Running on WinXP, latest build of Vegas. When viewing on second monitor with a Radeon X300 video card with latest driver update. The video card has a Svideo output, and when I attempt to preview (only in preview) with task manager a MPEG file, the program locks up tight. Takes a Cntrl Alt Delete, End Task- series to dump the program.
I can view MPEGs on the timeline, and the computer will run MPEGs from Media Player. I can re-render the MPEGs into AVIs and they play fine.
I have to turn off the external monitor, go adjust the screen real estate, then preview the MPEG on screen. When done previewing, I then go back to the external monitor. I've tried a variety of changes in the Options menu.

It locks up tight everytime, So... like I said, I've upgraded the drivers, changes settings, and been messing with this for the past week. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

I upgraded to Version 7.0B Build 151, and the MPEG lockups continue. The work around is to undock the preview screen, drag it over to the Ext Monitor and then make it as big as possible. Seems odd that it works that way, but not the other.
I've updated the video driver files, and tweak numerous settings. I'm running a Radeon X300 video card, with a Svideo out put to an LCD monitor.
Hope the Tech folks can cure this. Thanks.
