Am I right in thinking that if size constraints are not at issue, the standard CBR settings in Vegas's encoder are to be preferred to the standard VBR settings?
Further, what are the recommended settings for the highest possible quality when rendering, with (a) SVCD as the target and (b) DVD as the target?
(I'm assuming here that it is possible to improve over the standard templates, which will be designed for the best all round compromise).
