MPEG2 - simplest audio demux/remux

Chienworks wrote on 6/6/2013, 8:08 AM
I have some rather large MPEG2 files that i'd rather not rerender, but the audio is very low and way too dynamic. I'd like to wave-hammer the audio to make it listenable without touching the video.

Anybody got preferred methods for demuxing the audio, then remuxing the fixed version back in with the video stream? I was under the impression that VideoRedo would do this, but i can't seem to find any options for it. Vegas 9.0e doesn't seem to want to smart-render.

Thanks!

Try tsMuxer. It will demux and remux many types of files. It's quick and painless.

My go-to for MPEG-2 and others is AviDemux
The new version is great.

For MP4, I'm using Yamb with MP4Box more often.

For AVC transport streams, of course TSMuxer.

Giving it a try. Looks pretty simple, thanks!

Mpeg Wizard from womble.com has the multiplexing tools you are looking for, but it actually makes it even easier than that. You can just normalize the audio and preserve the video encode directly from Mpeg Wizard without any other software.
