MPG2 in VV vs VF

Is the MPG2 encoder in VV the same as the $99 add on to VF? That is, does it have all the controls and adjustments, or is it more like the $30 version you can add on to VF?

Also, if I buy one of the MPG2 encoders for VF, does the upgrade price to VV go down (I'm guessing not)?

The MPEG2 encoder in VV is the $99 full featured encoder the same as for VF. (that makes the upgrade price only $100 if you were going to buy the $99 encoder anyway). As far as I know, SoFo does not discount VV if you already bought the $99 encoder.

To be honest, I don’t use the tweaks at all. When I first got Vegas, I tried to set up all the MPEG2 parameters the same as I had in TMPGenc. But after doing several tests, I didn’t see a real difference in the quality with or without them vs. the original DVD template so I just use that now. I think you’ll be happy with the lower cost option.
