MS Network

I'm all the sudden getting this error in Vegas 4d
****************************
Two different copies of MSCOREE.DLL have been loaded.
First copy:
<unknown>
Second copy:
C:WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v.1.1.4322\mscorwks.dll
This is typically caused by having a registered MSCOREE.DLL that is different
from the one that is statically linked with the application.
**************************************************
What I've tried so far:
uninstalled/reinstalled Microsoft.NET
then uninstalled/reinstalled Vegas 4d
---------
I'm temporarily outta ideas...

Help and THANKS!

I assume you have done a search on your main drive for duplicate copies of this file?

Thanks John for your response. As a few other complications came up, I posted to the Video Issues forum in hopes that I might get a response from jetdv about this and tsunami related injuries.

Yes I did a search and attempted killing duplicate files. Oddly enough, when Framework.NET reinstalls, it copies the mscoree.dll file to two different folders, which I explain in more detail on the other forum. After multiple reinstalls of both Framework.NET and Vegas4d, I even got desperate enough to try resolving things by throwing Vegas4e into the works-- Kinda reminds me of an old joke whose punchline goes-- "kid shoulda quit while he was still a head".... c' live.

anyway, thanks for all the terrific scripts you've contributed to the rest of us, johnmeyer. If I never get Framework.NET reinstalled and never get to run one of them again, you're still a constant inspiration and I hope someday to meet you.

Finally figured a remedy for this.

1) Uninstalled Framework.NET then went to WINNT/Framewor.NET and physically removed all files/folders.

2) Uninstalled Vegas 4e

3) Reinstalled Framework.NET1.1, then Reinstalled Vegas4e, BUT, chose browse and reinstalled Vegas4.0e to a NEW DIRECTORY labeled (very cleverly) Vegas4e, (instead of default Vegas4.0) and VOILA! scripting returns.......

All this after only one short month--

Life is good. And I, for one am as happy as a little girl...

Hope this might help the next poor soul who mysteriously loses their ability to use scripting in Vegas4e or (I'm guessin) Vegas4d.
