MS V9 not compatible with ROUTEGENERATOR

It has been some time since I posted an issue regarding the use of Vegas MS v9 which was lost due to a computer failure.  Since then I have been able to recover a registered copy of the software (Vegas MS Version 9, Platinum Edition) but am still experiencing difficulties.  The replaced version has similar features but some are marginally different.

Up to the time prior to my computer crash my projects have been associated with the creation of DVD’s recording  travel experiences and have included short inputs of journey routes created using software package Route Generator (RG) which is based on mapping images using Google Maps.  This feature seems to be incompatible with my current Vegas MS software.  The current  version of RG (2.0.0) has options to generate the chosen route using ffmpeg or bmp2avi both of which have not been successful.  My current computer is Windows 10  operated.

I am keen to continue creating DVD recordings of my travels and would welcome any solutions to the problem of using Vegas MS v 9.0 and RG. Any suggestions please.

I have never used Route Generator (I much prefer MAGIX's Travel maps) so the following is what I have gathered from RG's webpage - https://routegenerator.net/tutorials/general/index.html

Under 'Modifying BMP2AVI/FFmpeg preferences' it states:

  • Codec - Here you can change the codec that Bmp2Avi or FFMpeg uses to generate the movie. This can result in smaller or higher quality movies, but it's possible that not all codecs are accepted by your video editing software. So, first check which codes are supported by you video editor.

The default codec is apparently AVC (H.264) but the other options are not shown or listed. Are you using AVC (H.264) when rendering the mp4 video from RG?

However, if there is a HEVC (H.265) codec option to create the mp4 video and you're using this option, video using this this codec will definitely not be able to be imported into Movie Studio 9 (or even in MSP13 for that matter).
