MS3 ==> Vegas 5

I have placed my order to upgrade from Movie Studio 3 to Vegas 5 + DVD. It was too good of a deal to pass up.
What I was wondering, for those of you who have upgraded from MS to Vegas - can I bring in the MS3 file into Vegas (I can't recall the extension of the MS3 file similar to the Vegas .veg file)?

It would be nice to not have to start from scratch with previously started productions.

There seems to be a forwards compatability, but not a reverse one. Projects created in MS3 (.vf files) can be opened and worked on in Vegas. Projects created with Vegas (.veg files) cannot be opened in MS3. I'm dealing only with Vegas 4.0 here, but it's logical to assume that Vegas 5+DVD can open the .vf files too.

By the way, what was the upgrade deal?

Gerry,
Thanks for the info, I was hoping that would be the answer :)
The deal was $499 for Vegas 5 + DVDA2 and includes Boris Graffiti 3 LTD and Magic Bullet's Movie Looks plug in. Even included free shipping.

Not much help for those of us who don't qualify.

Yes there are restrictions, but if you (or your kids) are in anyway connected to a school from K-12 or college and have a student card or even a letter from the school you can buy from them, and as you can see the price difference is significant.
