MTS to M2T transfer?

I have ver 8.0c and have successfully edited my Sony MTS AVCHD files before, although things tend to go smoother if I use Upshift to transform the files to M2T format first.

I'm having problems on my present project with the MTS files. Vegas keeps crashing on rendering. I'd like to transfer the project to use my Upshifted files. Is there a way to have Vegas 8.0c recognize the new Upshifted files with the same names as the original MTS files?

Alternatively, I'm trying to get 9.0c installed, but in the install process, I get a message that Microsoft C++ and WMF11 will be installed first. Then when I click OK, I get the message "Requirements not met, exit install". I'm currently discussing this with Sony support.

Try this little hack on your 8c version. Many have had success with it.

Thanks Rob,

I looked over the thread and will tackle the patch later.

In the meantime, I just bit the bullet and did a re-edit with Upshifted files. My time is very limited and I figured this would be the fastest approach in the end. All went well and the project is done.

Still no resolution of the ver 9 install problem. That will also have to wait.
